Zusammenfassung

Infektionen und Entzündungen im Urogenitaltrakt sind allgemein als wesentliche Gründe für die männliche Unfruchtbarkeit anerkannt. So liegt der Anteil der Männer in der andrologischen Sprechstunde, die über eine entsprechende Anamnese berichten, zwischen 6 und 10 %. Neben verschiedenen Formen der Prostatitis, ist vor allen Dingen die Epididymoorchitis von wesentlicher Relevanz. Daneben können auch virale Infektionen (wie z. B. Mumps, HIV) einen negativen Einfluss auf die Fertilität haben. Im Kapitel werden die verschiedenen Aspekte dargestellt.
