Zusammenfassung
Die Behandlung schwerstverletzter Patienten stellt für das behandelnde Schockraumteam eine große Herausforderung dar. Neben dem Faktor Zeit, der in der Schwerstverletztenversorgung einen entscheidenden Eckpfeiler der Behandlung darstellt, und der suffizienten Behandlung vital bedrohlicher Verletzungen, dürfen aber auch nichtlebensbedrohliche und kleinere Verletzungen nicht übersehen werden. Hierbei nehmen interdisziplinäre Prozessabläufe eine herausragende Rolle ein. Advanced Trauma Life Support, Definitive Surgical Trauma Care oder der European Trauma Course stellen Ausbildungskonzepte dar, die einen strukturierten Diagnostik- und Behandlungsablaufvorgeben. Hierbei haben Verletzungen, die für den Patienten unmittelbar tödlich enden können, die höchste Behandlungsrelevanz. Neben den vital bedrohlichen Verletzungen, die häufig unter dem Begriff „deathly six“ zusammengefasst werden, sollten auch zusätzliche Bagatelltraumen strukturiert abgearbeitet werden, da sie die Lebensqualität nach dem Trauma mitunter entscheidend beeinflussen können.
