Zusammenfassung

In den letzten Jahren ist die Supportivtherapie bei der konservativ-medikamentösen Behandlung maligner Tumoren deutlich in den Fokus des wissenschaftlichen und klinischen Interesses gerückt. Die suffiziente Behandlung von tumorassoziierten Symptomen und therapiebedingten Nebenwirkungen kann hierbei die Lebensqualität der Patienten während der Therapie verbessern und somit die Akzeptanz gegenüber dieser erhöhen. Insbesondere in einer Zeit, in der die additive und sequenzielle Aneinanderreihung verschiedener Therapeutika eine zunehmende Bedeutung bekommt, kann die konsequente Prävention und Behandlung der Nebenwirkungen gerade im Hinblick auf zeitlich lange Therapieverläufe ein entscheidender Faktor sein.
