Targeted Intraoperative Radiotherapy in Oncology

Abstract

A 93-year-old woman reported a 1-month history of left nipple irritation and of a lump in the left breast. On examination she had a 5 mm by 10 mm mass in the left lower inner quadrant. Mammogram (M5) demonstrated a 21-mm mass, while ultrasound (U5) revealed a 19-mm lesion of the left lower inner quadrant. Core biopsy showed grade 1 invasive ductal carcinoma. The lesion was oestrogen receptor positive with a Quick score of 8, progesterone receptor positive with a Quick score of 8 and HER2 negative.
