Zusammenfassung

Stridor ist ein raues oder pfeifendes Atemgeräusch, das durch turbulenten Atemluftstrom an einer laryngealen oder trachealen Stenose entsteht. Etwas weniger exakt, aber gebräuchlich ist die Bezeichnung Stridor für mit bloßem Ohr hörbare pathologische Atemgeräusche, was auch den »Stertor« bei nasopharyngealen Stenosen einschließt. Davon abgegrenzt wird das hochfrequente exspiratorische Pfeifen (Wheezing), das eine Einengung der kleinen intrathorakalen Atemwege anzeigt.
