Zusammenfassung
Projektmanagement ist weder für die Praxis noch für die Forschung ein neues Thema: Als Managementansatz wurde es von den Menschen seit der Antike zum Bau von Monumenten und Denkmalen betrieben. Der Bau der Pyramiden, die großen militärischen Feldzüge der Geschichte, die maritimen oder die Entdeckungsreisen der Neuzeit wären ohne Projektmanagement kaum realisierbar gewesen. Es gab aber für eine lange Zeit keine formalen Richtlinien für das Management von Projekten. Erst mit den militärischen und zivilen Großprojekten in der Mitte des letzten Jahrhunderts wie bspw. dem Bau des Hoover-Staudamms oder dem Apollo-Projekt hat sich das moderne Projektmanagement entwickelt.
