Abstract

Muscle synergies are considered a possible approach used by the Central Nervous System (CNS) to reduce the computational workload to achieve movements such as locomotion and reaching in an effective and smooth way. This abstract summarizes our recent results about the modifications induced by a stroke on muscle synergies. Finally, some considerations about the possible design of novel protocols for neurorehabilitation starting from these findings are also provided.
