Zusammenfassung

Wundbehandlungen wurden schon in den ersten medizinischen Aufzeichnungen beschrieben. Bereits in der Antike (u. a. Hippokrates) hatte man die Notwendigkeit erkannt, eine Wunde von Fremdkörpern zu befreien, sie mit abgekochtem Wasser zu waschen und mit sauberen Materialien abzudecken.
