Abstract

Raman spectroscopy, a vibrational spectroscopy technique, provides detailed information about molecular composition and molecular structure. Over the last decade, Raman spectroscopy has emerged to a non-invasive, established clinical research tool that benefits clinical dermatology as well as cosmetic and pharmaceutical product development. Applications range from skin structure analysis, response to environmental stress, diagnosis of skin disorders and skin hydration to penetration of actives for drug delivery and toxicology.
