Abstract
The Cuban Bioengineering Society (SCB) was founded in 1978, by a group of engineers, mainly from the clinical areas of the Cuban Health System (CHS). At present, it has broadened its membership with graduates working in the CHS, universities, research and development institutions, manufacturers, quality control, and certifying institutions, as well as other national institutions. The SCB has accomplished a wide scope of activities, acknowledged locally as well as internationally.
