Abstract

With improved technology and interventional skills, endovascular treatment has become a standard of care in a majority of patients with vertebral artery disease. Important exceptions include patients with hostile neck, extreme tortuosity, and external osseous stenoses. Obvious limitations of the endovascular approach include recurrent stenoses. In this chapter, the state of the art of endovascular treatments of vertebral artery disease has been reviewed.
