Abstract

This chapter reviews the clinical and imaging features of other malignant diseases involving the vagina but excluding primary vaginal squamous cell carcinoma (see Chap. 147). These other malignancies are a very heterogeneous group and very rare apart from secondary malignancy affecting the vagina. The data and descriptions of these other primary malignancies are limited to case reports or small case series. The diagnosis and staging of these other primary tumors are similar to primary squamous cell vaginal cancer. The diagnosis is made at examination under anesthesia (EUA) and biopsy of the macroscopic lesion. These tumors are staged using the clinical FIGO staging system. However, the treatment, prognosis, and imaging are dependent on the underlying histology of the primary.
