Definition

MOA is a collaboration of astronomers from New Zealand and Japan that employs the microlensing technique to search for dark matter and exoplanets. The Principal Investigator of the MOA collaboration is Yasushi Muraki of Nagoya University. MOA contributed to the discovery of nearly all of the planets discovered by microlensing. The MOA 1.8 m telescope is located at Mt. John Observatory on the south island of New Zealand.
