Abstract
Sex cord-stromal tumors, which arise from stromal cells and primitive sex cords in the ovary, account for less than 10% of all ovarian tumors. Some of the sex cord-stromal tumors show hormonal activities, which helps to distinguish them from other tumors of the ovary. The majority of the sex cord-stromal tumors are detected at stage 1 and are easily treated by surgery with a favorable prognosis. In this chapter, the characteristic clinical and radiological features of sex cord-stromal tumors including granulosa cell tumor, fibroma, thecoma, fibrothecoma, sclerosing stromal tumor, Sertoli-Leydig cell tumor, and steroid cell tumor will be discussed.
