Zusammenfassung

Das Kapitel behandelt neben dem Plattenepithelkarzinom, seinen histologischen Varianten und Vorläuferläsionen auch die Adenokarzinome ohne Assoziation zum Barrett-Ösophagus sowie neuroendokrine Tumoren. Darüber hinaus werden benigne epitheliale und nichtepitheliale Tumoren und tumorähnliche Veränderungen sowie maligne nichtepitheliale Tumoren hinsichtlich Makroskopie und Mikroskopie, Epidemiologie, Ätiologie und Pathogenese dargestellt. Wo diagnostisch relevant, wird auch auf die immunhistologischen und molekularpathologischen Befunde eingegangen.
