Zusammenfassung
Die Disziplin zur Erforschung des Spielens, die Game Studies, bedienen sich stark in der Sozialwissenschaft, um Praktiken der Interaktion, Realitätskonstruktionen, sozialer Strukturen und Rollen in und um das Spielen zu erforschen. Dabei haben die Game Studies der Arbeit von Erving Goffman besonderes Augenmerk geschenkt. Diese ist auch naheliegend. Nicht nur war Goffman ein leidenschaftlicher Black Jack-Spieler, das Spiel ist als Thema in Goffmans Werk prominent. Das Spiel ist eine der Metaphern, die sich durch seine Arbeiten ziehen und ihm seine spezifische Art der kreativen Untersuchung der Alltagswelt ermöglicht haben. In diesem Beitrag wird Goffmans Rezeption in den Game Studies nachgezeichnet.
