Zusammenfassung
Die 1917 erstmals erschienene Sammlung wurde 1923 in erweiterter Fassung publiziert. Die darin enthaltenen Prosagedichte sind größtenteils vor dem Ersten Weltkrieg entstanden. Verwandte Stücke waren bereits in den Œuvres burlesques et mystiques de Frère Matorel, 1912 (Burleske und mystische Werke von Bruder Matorel), veröffentlicht worden, weitere frühe Texte finden sich in La défense de Tartufe, 1919 (Die Verteidigung des Tartuffe).
