Zusammenfassung
Die 1765 bis 1769 veröffentlichten vierbändigen Commentaries on the Laws of England stellten das geltende englische Recht erstmals allgemeinverständlich dar; die auf Blackstones Vorlesungen zum englischen Recht aufbauenden Commentaries richteten sich dabei weniger an Juristen als an gebildete Gentlemen und sollten eine Einführung in und einen Überblick über das englische Recht geben.
