Abstract

The principles for both the ethical treatment of study subjects and the professional care for patients arise from the expectation that the treatment offered by the physician be applied with respect for the individual, beneficence toward that individual, and for the benefit of society and/or the individual. These principles legally enforced for the treatment of study patients and study data apply equally well to good clinical practice and the confidential management of clinical records.
