Abstract
Observing language practices on the Internet is an area of particular interest to sociolinguists working on language and technology. A common dimension of minority languages, such as Picard, is the topic of visibility which makes the Internet a particularly pertinent field of research because everything is “visible”. This chapter analyses the sites, blogs and a distribution list in Picard which provide not only linguistic data but also a corpus of attitudes and themes promoting the Picard language. Additionally, two projects named PICARTEXT (on the model of Frantext) and ANR RESTAURE are presented and highlight the way in which building language resources contributes to the general social dynamics of language.
