Diffuse Gastric Cancer

Abstract

Many attempts have been made to classify gastric cancer in order to predict natural history, prognosis, and treatment responses of gastric cancer patients. However, only a few of them have been definitively embraced by physicians in their everyday decision-making process. Although some heterogeneity between classifications, criteria based on microscopic morphologic features have stood the test of time due to their simplicity and meaningful differences in molecular features and clinical outcomes among groups.
