Abstract
The development of the methods and of the tools of representation have, always, influenced the creative process and the relative drafting of graphical set-ups for the control of the formal solution in the pre-figuration phase. Using geometrical set-ups for a planimetry and/or volumes, transforming curves and empirical (experimental) surfaces in other theoretical ones (classified), has a practical advantage in the phases of realisation and being the same ones (shapes) based on the regularity, the proportion and the research of cohesion, they concur to the evolution of the architectural language. Both on the plane and in space, simple geometrical operations give rise to shapes that, knowing their set-up by construction, can be correlated to practical functions. Geometry can inspire, if received well, the composition process: it is sufficient to, for example, consider that the simple symmetry is not an ordinary context but a particular projectivity, i.e. a similarity that in turn is a particular case of analogous transformation. The graphical set-up to the architectural space is a continuous matching between reality and geometry and between geometry and composition, real exercise of the architect that, through representation and relative tools, imagines the closer space.
