Abstract

Background: The aging process produces facial ptosis, which for many years has been corrected through facial surgery called face lift. Nowadays, to meet the demands of the patient, so-called thread lifts are used. The technique was first described in the late 1990s and has been improved. There are several materials available.

Objectives: The purpose of this chapter is to describe the various types of thread lifts available, as well as their application techniques, indications and contraindications, complications, and results observed in the articles already published.

Methods: Literature review is available in the databases.

Conclusions: Thread lift is a minimally invasive procedure with a low rate of complications that can be done in the office and allows the patient a quick return to daily activities.
