Abstract
In this chapter, we address the practices of family life education in the context of Saudi Arabia. We start by providing an overview of the Saudi social context, including the important historical and economic events that shaped the country and the influence of sociohistorical events on family dynamics. Then, we consider current Saudi family demographics, and utilizing Geert Hofstedeās cultural dimensions theoretical model, we examine important cultural characteristics of Saudi families and their needs. Next, we describe the development of Saudi family life education, providers, implementation, and the available evaluation research. By showing the practice of family life education in the Saudi context, this chapter highlights the importance of evidence-based FLE practices that seem to be missing. Finally, we provide recommendations for future practice.
