Abstract

The chapter presents values, principles and goals that create the conceptual and professional basis of Community practice. The chapter describes the intervening methodĀ of the Community practice, challenges facing the profession, and the implications of the changes occurring in communities and societies on the role of the community workers. The Chapter also outlines the community method as a mean of collective empowerment and of mediation between individuals and society, and as a mean to strengthen the power and abilities of individuals and groups to successfully cope with common interests and challenges.
