Abstract

This chapter deals with composite materials, particularly wood-plastic composites. The introductory section describes composite materials and their distribution, as well as wood-plastic composites and their history, usage, composition and production technology. The practical part deals with monitoring the cut surface obtained using water jet cutting and band saws. The samples were measured using a Mitutoyo SJ 400 roughness tester. Measurements revealed that the percentage of the wood in wood-plastic composites has a strong influence on surface roughness.
