This chapter discusses legal aspects of computing and is concerned with the overlap of the law and the computing field. We discuss intellectual property such as patents, copyright and trademarks, and the licensing of software. We examine the area of hacking and computer crime, and explore the nature of privacy, free speech and censorship. We consider the legal issues of bespoke software development and the legal aspects of the Internet.
