Surgical Critical Care Therapy

Abstract

While there is considerable overlap between the care of adult surgical critical care patients and pediatric surgical patients in the ICU, there are unique aspects of pediatric care that warrant additional consideration. Differences in pediatric anatomy, physiology, and the impact of these differences between children and adults are highlighted in this chapter using a systems-based approach.
