Abstract
Nail disorders in infants and children may be congenital or acquired. Nail signs may be present at birth or develop during neonatal life or later, and may occasionally be part of a syndrome or a systemic disorder. Nail dermatoscopy (onychoscopy) may be a useful tool for the diagnosis, management, and prognosis of different nail diseases in daily practice. In most cases it allows a better visualization of signs already evident to the naked eye. However, in a few diseases, the technique provides very important diagnostic information.
