Abstract

Osteomyelitis is an infection of the bone typically due to a bacterial infection. In adults, it usually results from contiguous spread, often from a diabetic ulcer. PET/MR imaging offers benefits of obtaining high sensitivity for the presence of infection by PET and with the high soft tissue contrast on MRI, exact localization of the infection site, and nearby soft tissue involvement.
