Abstract
The present chapter reviews the current and popular therapies used to alleviate psychological trauma of cancer resulting in adverse and disturbing behavioural and psychological reactions. These therapies, including alternative medicine, may also be used to promote psychological well-being in cancer patients. We discuss the most common cancers and mention major charity and NGO organizations in the Middle East and Europe. We also discuss why cancer patients seek such therapies and some of the challenges and obstacles facing successful therapy for cancer.
