Abstract

Calderón examines Volpi’s implementation of an array of narrative techniques in his novels, thus creating a multidimensional text. From a general perspective, according to Calderón, Volpi’s style is close to that of a postmodern writer. The chapter also examines Volpi’s metatextual and narrative games and his notion of an “active reader,” which can be traced from his early novels and the Crack Manifesto.
