Abstract
Spinal cord injury (SCI) places risks to pregnancy and delivery depending on the level of lesion. Autonomic dysreflexia (ADR), a characterized syndrome of SCI, results in severe hypertension. A multidisciplinary team must be involved in the management of these patients. Vaginal delivery is frequently performed in parturients with SCI below T6, and cesarean delivery appears to be increased in this population. ADR is a major concern for anesthetic management, and both neuraxial analgesia/anesthesia and general anesthesia can be effective and safe for delivery with inhibiting ADR under closely monitoring.
