Abstract
In this chapter, Bates examines the development of data-driven climate risk markets that have emerged at the intersection of climate change, big data and financial capitalism. She ponders what it might mean to turn to climatic uncertainty as a source of profit and growth by examining the response of both policy makers and climate-risk industries to climate concerns.
