Abstract
There are about 120 million people at risk for and 70 million people who have established lymphatic filariasis, of which 40 million are suffering from lymphedema; thus, it is very important for medical, paramedic, and health planners to understand this disease and to provide morbidity control including surgery for these unfortunate patients. The World Health Organization is working toward elimination of lymphatic filariasis by 2020.
