Abstract
The ilioinguinal, iliohypogastric, and genitofemoral nerves can be injured in a variety of ways, most commonly following abdominal surgery. Conservative measures should be first-line treatment (ice, NSAIDs, physical therapy, TCAs). Given the close proximity of the nerves, patients with refractory symptoms after conservative treatment should undergo local nerve blocks for diagnostic as well as therapeutic purposes.
