Abstract
Functional endoscopic sinus surgery is scheduled in a child with combined variable immune deficiency (CVID, hypogammaglobulinemia) and severe bronchiectasis. Additional questions include blood preparation for administration to immune-deficient patients, the embryology of the thymus and parathyroids and implications for anesthesia, and the relationship between spina bifida and latex allergy.
