Pediatric Anesthesiology Review

Abstract

A preschooler with junctional epidermolysis bullosa is scheduled for a circumcision and dental rehabilitation; specific concerns about perioperative care and the anesthetic plan are discussed. Additional questions review skin physiology as it pertains to anesthesia, Stevens-Johnson syndrome and its differentiation from toxic epidermal necrolysis, and finally, a patient with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome scheduled for spinal fusion.
