Abstract
Abstract
In the present report green method for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles from using silver nitrate and solution Arbutus cf. bicolor leaves extract, which acts both as reducing and stabilizing agent, although nanoparticles can be synthesized through array of conventional methods biological route of synthesizing are good competent over physical and chemical techniques. Effects of leaves extract, silver nitrate concentration, reaction time and temperature on reaction rate were investigated synthesized silver nanoparticles (AgNP’s). The leaves extract were characterized with FT-IR analysis indicated the involvement of carboxyl (-C= O), hydroxyl (-OH) and amine (-NH) functional groups. The formation of silver nanoparticles were characterized using UV-visible absorption spectroscopy gave surface plasmon resonance between 400 and 450 nm this reveals the reduction of silver ions (Ag+) to silver (Ag0) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM-EDS). The particles forming small aggregates coated with the leaf extract, which probably makes them stable over long time periods.
