Electrolysis of Alumina in a Molten Salt at 760°C

Abstract

The electrolysis of alumina at a current density of 0.9 A/cm2 in a predominantly chloride electrolyte at 760°C has been demonstrated on bench scale. A high surface area anode was used to achieve this result.
