Operative Dictations in General and Vascular Surgery

Abstract

This uncommon procedure remains useful in cases of refractory peptic ulcer disease, as an adjunct to oversewing of bleeding duodenal ulcer, or during repair of large anterior perforation. It is particularly useful in patients unlikely to comply with medical management. This chapter gives the indications, essential steps, common variations, and complications of the procedure. It provides a detailed operative note template.
