Small Animal Imaging

Abstract

The strength of nuclear imaging is based on its ability to reveal quantitative information. Especially positron emission tomography (PET) offers, as long as all corrections, such as for photon attenuation, scatter, and partial volume effect, are applied, highly quantitative data. This chapter describes the different pitfalls in PET image analysis and necessary correction methods. Furthermore, it provides practical recipes for image analysis and quantitative data reporting.
