Abstract
The implications of the single-neuron theory are analyzed. Qualia, mind/brain duality, the brief duration of a conscious experience, and the mathematical nature of reality are evaluated. The isomorphic relationship between the mental and the physical and Palmer’s “isomorphic constraint” are investigated. The relationship between quantum mechanics and the possibility of free will is considered at both the microscopic and macroscopic levels. The implications of the theory for current issues in physics are then examined. Finally, the role of memory and single-neuron consciousness in defining who and what we are as sentient beings is explored.
