Abstract

Healthy hair could be defined by a limited number of common and universal measurement criteria: speed of growth, number, length, and diameter. These criteria would be associated with a shiny aspect of the hair and a soft appearance. Actually, the situation is not so simple because of many various parameters including age, sex, and ethnic origin. So, a good knowledge of these variations in criteria is necessary for the recognition of healthy hair.
