Abstract
This essay moves forward in time with spacecraft. It departs from another text: “Zero Atmosphere Architecture” described four points for spaceships past: as a fusion of architecture and human–computer interaction (HCI), as a product of fact/fiction transfers, as steeped in protectionism for Earth’s atmosphere, and as implying new scales for architectural thinking (Geiger 2015).

The Long Now foundation is a project initiated in 1996 by Stewart Brand to “provide a counterpoint to today’s accelerating culture and help make long-term thinking more common. We hope to creatively foster responsibility in the framework of the next 10,000 years.” One of its many projects is the construction of a 10,000-year clock.
