Abstract

Pregnancies of unknown location are diagnosed in patients with positive serum human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) levels and pelvic ultrasounds without evidence of ectopic or intrauterine pregnancies. These may develop into ongoing intrauterine pregnancies, miscarriages, or ectopic pregnancies. This chapter discusses diagnostic approaches to pregnancies of unknown location, as well as the diagnosis and management of ectopic pregnancies.
