Abstract
In the vast majority of pediatric patients, vesicoureteral reflux is a self-resolving problem in the first year of life. In fact, in many patients, VUR is asymptomatic. For patients who are symptomatic and suffering sequelae of renal injury, there are a number of treatment options. Pediatric surgeons should be familiar with the basics of the diagnosis and workup of this relatively common condition.
