Abstract
Sinonasal melanoma is a relatively common skull base malignancy that can arise in the nasal cavity (often along the nasal septum) or paranasal sinuses and occasionally primarily in the sphenoid sinus.
The mean age at presentation is 63–67 years.
The most common clinical presentation is epistaxis and airway obstruction.
In rare circumstances, melanoma can arise primarily in the sellar region.
In other rare cases, melanoma can metastasize to the pituitary gland.
Melanoma in this region may cause visual loss, hypopituitarism, headache, and cranial nerve paresis.
