Abstract
Optimal setup is the key for a successful vaginal hysterectomy. Even though there are a variety of approaches for colpotomy and closure steps of vaginal hysterectomy, they have not been well-studied. However, in all techniques, good knowledge of anatomy, increased familiarity with tissue planes, sharp anterior and posterior dissection, and anchoring of the uterosacral ligaments to the vaginal apex are emphasized.
