Abstract

Lipoabdominoplasty is a procedure that is carried out to reform the abdominal wall without severe complications. The vessels in the upper abdomen are preserved and necrosis is rare when the upper flap is brought down. The procedure is easy to learn. The author explains the historical events leading to the development of the procedure and discusses the differences compared with normal abdominoplasty, in addition to the technique for lipoabdominoplasty.
